Sandpiper Trekkers

On Friday, we kicked off our Sandpiper Trekkers program, which is intended to promote physical fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Each Friday for 10 weeks, we will have a 1/4 mile track set up for students to walk or run. As they complete each lap, parent volunteers will mark their cards to help keep track of their progress. In addition to personal incentives, we have a school goal of completing 8,000 laps in 10 weeks -- that's 2,000 miles!

On our first day, our students made a huge dent in reaching that goal:
  • We completed 1,440 laps - that's 360 miles!
  • 159 students completed at least 1 mile.
  • 14 students completed at least 2 miles.

We look forward to seeing what the students will accomplish this week!
