Shoes and Poems

Congratulations to the Sandpiper community for helping the relief efforts in Haiti. We collected more than 500 pairs of shoes this week to support those in need. Sports Chalet is collecting the shoes and sending them to the relief centers.

As part of our poetry celebration, students were visited this week by the Poetry Patrol, who checked to make sure students were carrying a poem in their pocket at all times.

Mrs. Loerakker's first grade class and Ms. Ryan's kindergarten class have had fun writing poems for each other and sharing what they have learned. You can see their amazing work in the kindergarten hallway.

Congratulations to sixth grader Sanjana K., who finished in 5th place at the district spelling bee. Her finish qualifies her for the regional spelling bee next month.
