Welcome Back

I could not have asked for a better first week. The students were not only enthusiastic to see their classmates, they fell back into the routines and were ready to learn. After some messy projects this summer, our teachers worked quickly to get their rooms ready, and they started the year in great spirits and focused on the opportunities to work with students. It was a true joy to visit classrooms throughout the week!

Tuesday night's curriculum night was well-attended, and we greatly appreciate those parents who were able attend. Communication with your child's teacher is a critical step in helping your child be successful, so please find opportunities to stay in touch with your child's teacher throughout the year.

I also want to thank the PTO for not only helping us get set up with several key events to start the year, but for all of the planning they have done to help us connect as a community throughout the year. As more of us are spending more time at work, these family events are important opportunities to focus on the strength of our community.

Parents are often looking for ways to enhance learning at home, and the internet provides plenty of resources to do so. I have added two new sites to "My Favorite Links" that help challenge students with their math skills. Some of the activities are great challenges for the family to think through.

I am looking forward to a great school year....
